New Toyota Fortuner.

Updates for Toyota

The updates are new 17-inch dark grey rims and a switch to a black interior. ISOFIX mounts for compatible childseats are also included now.
According to UMW Toyota Motor, the updates are in response to customer feedback and are provided at no change in prices (shown below, inclusive of insurance).

In particular, the previous sandbeige colour theme for the cabin was found to be less appealing to many owners, probably because it got dirty easily. Black is considered more desirable and for the 2.7V versions, there is black combination leather upholstery with fine silver stitching. The driver also gets a 6-way power adjustable seat so that the most comfortable seating position can be obtained.
The dashboard, centre console and door trims have also changed to complement the new black interior colour. For the Fortuner 2.7V, the new black dashboard is matched with the new design black woodgrain while the Fortuner 2.5G’s new black dashboard is combined with silver elements.

As before, the Fortuner is available with only automatic transmission and two engine choices – a 160 ps/241 Nm 2.7-litre petrol engine and 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine producing 144 ps at 3400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque which is available from 1600 rpm.
The high output of the diesel engine is largely due to the switch to a Variable Nozzle Turbocharger (VNT) which optimizing the exhaust gas pressure and flow speed through the turbine. The 4-cylinder direct-injection engine is also fitted with an intercooler over its cylinder head. This lowers the temperature of the air before it enters the combustion chambers, increasing density and oxygen content.
As with all the models offered by UMW Toyota Motor, the locally-assembled Fortuner range comes with a 3-year/100,000 kms (whichever occurs earlier after first registration) warranty.
