wears daring red dress

Head turning: Sheridan Smith had all eyes on her at the premiere of The Harry Hill Movie at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square on ThursdayShe is one of the only female cast members in The Harry Hill Movie, so it wouldn’t have been hard for her to take centre stage at the premiere.
But Sheridan Smith clearly didn’t fancy taking any chances when she took to the red carpet at the Vue cinema in Leicester Square on Thursday evening.

Looking as if she had two red doilies covering her chest, the 32-year-old turned heads with her very daring festive frock.

Featuring a full sheer panel on the top half, the actress who plays Michelle in the film, had a section of her bare stomach on show.
The Fifties style skirt was more modest and fell to the top of her calves, featuring pockets for her to pose with her hands in.
Making sure the racy nature of the dress could take centre stage, the actress wore her hair off her face in a quiffed pony tail that was in keeping with her style of skirt.

The star wore a pair of simple nude stilettos, while she wore lashings of eye make-up to complete her red carpet look.
The film’s other female co-star Julie Walters was in stark contrast to Sheridan, opting rather sensibly to keep the cold at bay in a black coat, featuring leopard print turn-up sleeves.
The 63-year-old looked elegant in her black trousers and smock style top featuring detailing around the bottom section.

Harry Hill, the film’s protagonist, wore his usual black suit, with white shirt – open at the collar.
Johnny Vegas who also stars in the film was also on hand for the premiere.
Sherdidan plays Harry's love interest in the film, a shell girl who is covered in shells and starfish.
Speaking on the red carpet, she revealed: ‘It took about four hours in make-up every day, so I'd get picked up at 3am and sit in make-up having all these prosthetic shells put all over my face.

Get racy in lace like Sheridan Smith

Sheridan Smith sure has had a pretty good year, all things considered. She's made the leap from television to film with a stint on the stage in between and is now one of our favourite leading ladies.
Don't get us wrong - we're happy for her, but now that she's a superstar, Sheridan's red carpet looks are more often than not a little out of our reach in terms of price. Grrr. Take this one - we love the prim and ladylike look of the lower half with that full skirt and those insouciant pockets. But there's nothing ladylike about the sexy upper half!
It might look like she's about to have a wardrobe malfunction, but Sheridan's dress is actually pretty secure and covered up by red carpet standards these days. The top is all sheer (nude to match those heels, natch!) with the lace as an overlay, so it's really just like a V-neck dress with an extra cut out.
Your trusty LBD might have served you well so far, but now that we're nearing the peak of party season it's time to ditch it in favour of something new. A daring lace look will be your best friend and make sure you get that kiss under the mistletoe...
If you're feeling flush and have a red carpet occasion of your own, Notte by Marchesa can offer you a luxe look. Or if you're feeling bold, why not opt for cobalt blue? We couldn't resist showing you this Three Floor dress, the shape of which is a great match for Sheridan's.

‘And I had to wear a fat suit all day, which was mental!
‘We had these T-shirts on underneath that had iced water pumped through them because we got so hot.
‘So today I'm like 'Ah! It's nice and chilly!’'
The film follows Hill, his Nan, played by Walters, and his pet hamster, voiced by Johnny Vegas, on a road trip to Blackpool, unaware they are being pursued by Hill's evil twin brother, Otto, played by Matt Lucas.

Hill drove up the red carpet in the car he used in the film, with a Christmas tree tied to the roof.
The 49-year-old comedian revealed that he took inspiration for his acting debut from Walters.
‘I learned a lot from her. I've never been in a film, I've never really done proper acting as such," he said.
‘I've done sketches, but I've never done anything longer than half a minute. So I learned a lot from her.

‘The only problem I've got is I'm not the funniest thing in the film. I made the mistake of getting a cast of really funny people.’
Meanwhile, Walters confessed that seeing the car on the red carpet brought back memories.
‘It's 1970s, I was sitting really low driving it, it was really hard steering. Great fun though,’ she said.
The Harry Hill Movie is out in the UK on December 20.
